SkyShop will NOT accept the following items for carriage. This list includes items that are prohibited for carriage by any federal, state, or local government of any country from, to, or through which the items may be transported.
Please keep in mind that additional prohibited items may be specified by the country of destination for international carriage. Please keep in mind that these lists are subject to change as a result of IATA and airline regulations.
ITEM THAT ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE SHIPPED
- Airmail Photographic Printing Paper
- All liquids, including alcohol of any kind
- All counterfeit/ pirated materials or articles including Base or Counterfeit Coin of any Country
- Beads composed of inflammable celluloid or other similar substances
- Blank Invoices
- Coupons for foreign football pools or other betting arrangements
- Exhausted tea or tea mixed with other substances. For the purposes of this item, “exhausted tea” means any tea which has been deprived of its proper quality, strength, or virtue by steeping, infusion, decoction, or other means
- Implements appertaining to the reloading of cartridges
- Materials of any description with a design that is intended to breach the peace or to offend the religious views of any class of persons in Nigeria
- Meat, Vegetables, or other provisions declared by a health officer to be unfit for human consumption
- Piece goods and all other textiles including wearing apparel, hardware of all kinds, crockery, and china or earthenware goods bearing inscriptions (whether in Roman or Arabic characters) from the Koran or from the traditions and commentaries on the Koran
- Second-hand clothing
- Bullion and Silver or metal alloy coins not being legal tender in Nigeria
- Antiques, works of art, and fine art with an individual value in excess of £5,000
- Clinical and/or Biological samples (including but not limited to bodily fluids and tissue samples)
- Complete original and imitation Firearms and Firearm Parts (includes rifle butts, trigger mechanisms, screws/bolts, etc. which are manufactured for the sole purpose of creating a functional firearm), ammunition, explosives, and explosive devices
- Dangerous and Hazardous goods including but not limited to Nuclear Industrial waste and other Toxic waste, Flammable Substances, Matches made with white phosphorous, Dry Ice, Biological Substances, UN Classified dangerous goods and any goods specified as such under International Air Transport Association regulations (“IATA”), the Agreement on Dangerous Goods by Road (“ADR”) or International Maritime Dangerous Goods (“IMDG”) regulations
- Air-conditioning Units, Freezers, Refrigerators (anything that contains refrigerant gas) are subject to IATA regulations.
- Furs
- Human Remains or Ashes
- Illegal goods and Ivory
- Lithium batteries – both ION and Metal (unless within a product, and then must be shipped via our dangerous goods courier.
- PowerBanks Broken or damaged mobile phones, as this is against IATA Regulations
- Live animals (including but not limited to mammals, reptiles, fish, invertebrates, amphibians, birds, insects, larvae, and pupae), animal parts, livestock, and insects
- Loose Precious and Semi-Precious Stones (cut or un-cut, polished or un-polished)
- Pornography (whether in printed, film, or digital format)
- Sex toys
- Tobacco, loose-leaf tobacco products, and pre-rolled cigarettes
- Firecrackers and any items containing explosives
- This can include items that are country-specific (e.g. the importation of alcohol) and commodities considered to be illegal internationally, such as Counterfeit Goods, Ivory, and Narcotics
items not specified above may be refused by SkyShop at its sole discretion.
As long as all legal conditions are met, the following items MAY be allowed for carriage by SkyShop. All items will be inspected and dispatched in compliance with IATA regulations, which are subject to change. Specific permissions, licenses, or additional limitations and charges are necessary for these commodities to cover appropriate packaging and handling.
Note: that the country of destination may have additional forbidden items for international carriage. Please keep in mind that due to IATA and airline rules, these listings are subject to change.
Items that can't be shipped
- Automotive engines, and any other engine that runs off petrol, can be sent however they require a PURGE certificate to ship
- Medications – all medications require a personal import permit
- Seeds- all seeds and selected plants will require a personal import permit.
- Please seek guidance from the Ministry of Agriculture on which plants are allowed in the country before you order
- Dangerous and Hazardous goods including but not limited to Aerosols, Flammable Substances such as alcohol, nail varnish, perfumes, and aftershaves – any such items will be checked and sent in accordance with IATA regulations and are subject to additional charges
- Drones- all drones will require a personal import permit
- Any other item classified as dangerous goods which may require additional packaging and handling fees
- Television – please note that we do not accept responsibility for damage to televisions shipped with SkyShop. There will also be additional costs to all televisions shipped with SkyShop, as all televisions must be created and will be charged on the volumetric weight.

- If we receive an item that is prohibited from your account...
- Any of the items listed above that we receive on your behalf can be returned to the sender for an additional administration fee plus the return postal costs.
- If we receive items that cannot be sent, we will contact you to ask what you want us to do with them. We will dispose of the items if we do not receive a response within 14 days.
